Job Description

We are recruiting for a Field Service Engineer to be the Water Treatment Technical Specialist - this is a Site-Based Position. We are seeking a skilled professional to serve as our on-site technical expert, offering the following refined scope of responsibilities:

What you'll do:

  • Serve as the principal technical consultant and customer liaison
  • Provide comprehensive on-site service support
  • Collaborate with Area Field Services Leadership and Senior Representatives
  • Conduct precise water analysis and manage laboratory sample coordination
  • Perform detailed equipment maintenance and calibration
  • Generate thorough on-site reports documenting all technical interventions
  • Maintain optimal inventory levels of critical spare components
  • Implement system improvements through procedural recommendations
  • Participate in structured on-call rotation (one week in four)
  • Provide emergency response services as required

    Qualifications

    Essential Requirements: :

    • Higher education qualification in Science, Engineering or technical discipline
    • OR substantial mechanical expertise gained through apprenticeship or practical site maintenance experience
    • Valid UK driving licence
    • Comprehensive knowledge of water treatment systems operation and maintenance
    • Proven mechanical maintenance capabilities

    Preferred Skills:

    • A-Level Chemistry or demonstrable equivalent practical knowledge
    • Industrial environment exposure
    • Proficiency with safety protocols and documentation (Risk Assessments, Method Statements, permit systems)

    This position presents an excellent opportunity for technically accomplished individuals who combine practical expertise with relevant academic credentials. We welcome applications from candidates with either traditional educational qualifications or equivalent practical experience in the field.

    The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong foundation in both theoretical knowledge and hands-on technical skills, particularly in water treatment and mechanical systems maintenance.
