Job Description

Targeted Hourly Pay Range: Minimum of $32.00 to a maximum of $37.00

POSITION PURPOSE: The Maintenance Technician II is responsible for performing preventative maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting on a variety of equipment and systems within the industrial water treatment facility. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of mechanical systems, as well as experience with a variety of tools and equipment relevant to the industry.

PRIMARY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform preventative maintenance on a variety of equipment and systems, such as pumps, valves, pipes, and other water treatment equipment.
  • Perform corrective repairs on equipment and systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve equipment and system problems.
  • Install new equipment and systems.
  • Perform safety inspections and ensure that all equipment and systems comply with safety regulations.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Keep accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed.
  • Work independently and as part of a team.
  • Read and understand P&IDs, O&M manuals, control philosophy, and other technical documents.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position requires work in both an office and an industrial wastewater treatment plant setting, as well as occasional travel, as needed for training, meetings, or other work-related purposes.  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, climb stairs and ladders, and access all areas of the facility.  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

Education / Experience / Background:

  • High school diploma or equivalent and demonstrated proficiency in the following areas:
  • 3+ years of experience as a maintenance technician or in a related field, preferably in an industrial or water treatment setting.
  • Water quality analysis and testing procedures.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems and industrial processes.
  • Experience with a variety of tools and equipment, including pumps, valves, and pipefitting tools.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to prioritize workload based on dynamic conditions.

Required Certification / Licenses / Training:

  • Valid Driver’s license and safe driving record.
