Veolia Water Technologies & Solutions (VWTS) is looking for an experienced Senior Human Resources Manager based in Norfolk, VA to work hybrid out of this site.
The Senior HR Manager drives engagement within a growing industrial service setting. They influence leaders and understand both broad business, manufacturing and service specific challenges to enable a salary and an hourly workforce to meet business objectives. You'll act as a subject matter expert providing guidance and direct support for functional areas such as employee relations, consultation/conflict resolution, policy interpretation and application, management consultation, talent acquisition, succession planning, workforce data analysis, and performance appraisal training.

Key Responsibilities:
You will guide the development and execution of workforce strategies in collaboration with the human resources team and operations leadership.
Ability to develop a deep understanding of the business. You will participate in client activities to build knowledge of the operational objectives, as well as, our culture. This includes attending client meetings to give HR updates while assessing operational needs.
You will look for new opportunities and solutions to deliver HR support in line with business goals.
Support workforce planning while monitoring trends such as turnover and time to fill to support clients with staffing challenges. You will work closely with the Talent Acquisition shared service center and management to identify and remove barriers to filling positions. Participation in the recruitment process may be necessary from time to time, in particular for any managerial positions.
You will leverage data to identify opportunities for improvement in a number of key workforce areas.
You will manage local employee relations including conflict resolution, providing counselling to managers and employees and conducting interviews. You will work with managers to coach, train and guide them in regards to employee relations, policy and procedure interpretation, turnover, employee satisfaction, performance management, conflict resolution, and legal issues.
You are accustomed to working in a shared service environment and will ensure that HR workflows support this model while leveraging the expertise of HR COEs (Compensation, Payroll & benefits, Talent Acquisition, HRIS and Mobility).
When issues arise, you will manage investigations for a variety of issues including local government agency concerns, business practice complaints, and Unemployment Claims.
You will identify appropriate options for senior leadership consideration, making recommendations as necessary, and writing summary reports to support business decisions.
You will also need to be fluent with compensation policies and able to give recommendations to management on handling crucial compensation conversations. This position partners with the compensation COE.

Qualifications
Core Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree required with 10+ years of HR experience.
Previous experience in water, manufacturing, oil and gas, energy, or chemicals industries is preferable
Solid employee relations background is critical for the success of this role
Accustomed to working in a fast-paced, high-growth working environment
Solid working knowledge of Federal and local laws for the US as they pertain to human resources administration, employee relations, and investigation compliance
Demonstrated ability to work with and influence an hourly manufacturing population while providing a strong partnership with management
Based in Norfolk, VA area- or willing to commute 3 days/ week to this site.
Travel:
Ability to travel up to 20%
