Job Description

The Field Service Site Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the construction, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of water treatment equipment and plants at various project sites. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, project management skills, and leadership abilities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
● Plan, execute, and finalize construction of projects according to deadline and budget. Define, support and execute project's objectives and overseeing quality control of the project.
● Interact closely with Engineering, Project Management and Project Controls on progress and updates throughout the project duration.
● Ensure the applicable design document for civil, mechanical, piping and instrumentation commodities is provided to direct hire craft personnel to complete work, and that all design changes are approved prior to implementation.
● Ensure Veolia’ core processes and local/national safety codes, requirements and standards are being complied with within assigned area of responsibility.
● Will be responsible for pre-construction safety meetings; contractor safety orientation; weekly on-site safety inspections; accident/incident investigations; research on safety topics for weekly meetings with field operations; general safety training; development of safety toolbox talks.
● Develop Standard Operating Procedures and log sheets to document and monitor equipment operation.
● Develop and execute Commissioning Schedules and Performance Plans.
● Participate in Model Reviews, Engineering Design Meetings and Safety in Design reviews in order to ensure accessibility, maintenance, and operation of process equipment.
● Perform control system factory acceptance tests with Clients and client-designated representatives.
● Maintain strong safety mindset to assure the executed work reflects the technical requirements within Veolia’s safety standards
● Prepare timely and accurate technical reports for customer records and a reference for future outages
● Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as water treatment chemistry calculations, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of budgets, and monitoring Time & Material (T&M) contract costs.
● Troubleshoot alignment issues and plumb adjustment figures (plane geometry).
● Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Improve operations and determine if design works will not work.

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Understanding of construction codes, OSHA safety regulations, project plans, specifications, contract documents, and change orders.
  • Ability to ensure accurate daily documentation of construction activities by crews and subcontractors.
  • Provide technical expertise throughout the construction process, plan large-scale and multi-step projects.
  • Excellent customer service attitude and follow-through skills.
  • Flexibility to adapt to a constantly evolving environment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate's degree minimum; Bachelor's in Engineering or related field preferred.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of structural design, mechanical systems, hydraulics, electrical systems, piping, welding, metallurgy, and chemistry principles.
  • Entry Level: 5-10 years of relevant experience in mechanical systems, equipment installation, or maintenance operations.
  • Advanced Level: 10-20 years of extensive experience in a related field, leading complex projects or overseeing technical operations.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in CAD, project management tools, and data analysis software.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Possession of a valid U.S. passport or ability to secure one.


ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to read, analyze, interpret technical documents, and write reports.
  • Mathematical skills for calculations, budgeting, and monitoring contract costs.
  • Reasoning ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret technical instructions, diagrams, and work with abstract and concrete variables.
  • Redesign or modify systems to ensure functionality.
  • Relevant safety training certificates (confined space, fall arrest, CPR, etc.).
  • Physical ability to perform essential job functions, including occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.
  • Willingness to work in remote work camps and outdoor environments, with potential exposure to noise, H2S, and caustic fumes.

Additional Information

● Up to 20% domestic and international travel as required
● Visits to supplier and customer sites that may be located outdoors or in other exposed environments
