Job Description

Position Purpose: 

The Internal Control Intern will learn about processes and controls that needs to be in place in order to have a good control environment. This will also include ensure compliance with VE & VNA policy and governmental regulation.

Primary Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the CAP (Control Assessment Process) by performing test and identifying non compliances, 50%.
  • Help with data analysis and monitoring (run reports, if needed help create reports, identify from data what analysis would be relevant for the review, etc.), 20%.
  • Access Management (Review access, understand access, if segregation of duties conflicts, work with the key user to find a solution, be the point of contact), 20%.
  • Help working with subject matter experts to update policy, 5%.
  • Delegation Of Authority (DOA) Management (process, review DOAs, etc.), 5%.

Work Environment:

  • Spends 100% of time in an office environment and follows the office guidance for remote work.
  • Occasional travel to project site or training may be required.
  • Possible Work Hazards:  Limited exposure to work hazards.  Must exercise care if lifting heavy printouts or binders.

Qualifications

Education/Experience/Background:

  • Bachelor’s degree from a recognized four-year college or university with emphasis in business information systems, accounting or business or an Associate’s degree and one to two years related experience.
  • Previous exposure to ERP systems (i.e. SAP, Coupa, Oracle, PeopleSoft, OWAM or Maximo a plus).
  • Knowledge of accounting and auditing principles.

  • Microsoft Office (Excel, Access),
  • Google Sheet, Lucidchart, Sisense, Tableau, Power BI, Studio looker is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequent sitting and operating computer.
  • Fast paced environment involving deadlines and frequent contact with internal and external personnel.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
  • The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; bend and stoop. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
