Job Description

A Process Commissioning Engineer specialized in sewage and industrial treatment plants is responsible for overseeing the commissioning process of wastewater treatment facilities. This role involves ensuring that the systems and processes are designed, installed, and functioning correctly before the plant becomes operational. The engineer plays a crucial part in optimizing plant performance, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring compliance with regulations and environmental standards.

Main task and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following

  • Evaluate project specifications, process designs, and engineering drawings related to sewage and industrial treatment plants.
  • Conduct comprehensive reviews to identify potential issues and propose solutions for efficient system operation.
  • Develop detailed commissioning plans outlining the step-by-step procedures for equipment testing, system integration, and performance evaluation.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to establish clear timelines and milestones for commissioning activities.
  • Supervise the installation and testing of pumps, valves, blowers, chemical dosing systems, and other equipment.
  • Conduct thorough inspections to ensure that all components meet the required standards and specifications.
  • Monitor and analyze plant processes to optimize plant performance and effluent quality
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot operational issues, malfunctions, and deviations from the design specifications.
  • Develop effective solutions and work closely with the engineering team to implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain detailed records of commissioning activities, tests conducted, and results obtained.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports outlining the commissioning process, highlighting successes, challenges, and areas for improvement.
  • Provide training to plant operators and maintenance staff regarding the optimized processes and operational best practices.
  • Transfer knowledge about the systems, processes, and troubleshooting techniques to ensure efficient long-term operation.
  • Prioritize safety protocols during commissioning activities, ensuring the well-being of all personnel involved.
  • Implement measures to minimize environmental impact, including proper disposal of chemicals and waste materials.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, contractors, and project managers, to address issues promptly and ensure smooth commissioning.
  • Maintain clear and open communication channels to update stakeholders on progress, challenges, and resolutions
     

Qualifications

Job specifications

  • Qualifications: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience: Min 5 years of experience as a Process Commissioning Engineer (Sewage and Industrial Treatment Plants)
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations, standards, and best practices in wastewater treatment.
  • Specific training: Management training
