Job Description

Main Responsibilities:

  • Work onsite with the Veolia Contract Administration Team
  • Manage, maintain, coordinate and facilitate the Quality Management items of the Winnipeg Sewage Treatment Program
  • Audit, assess, evaluate and provide recommendations to the Contractor and Engineer of Record on the Quality Management Process of the C4 Contract.
  • Facilitate and execute site-wide walkthroughs and produce daily inspection reports documenting and tracking all activities and progress on SEWPCC project
  • Provide all other support to the Contract Administrator team and City Project Managers within the Winnipeg Sewage Treatment Program (WSTP).

Support the WSTP as an integral player by:

 

  • Managing, maintaining, tracking and facilitating all quality management objectives as a service for the City of Winnipeg Engineering Division to ensure achievement of project goals and implementation of the Quality Management Process to the C4 Contract
  • Short term goals are ensuring an acceptable response time for all quality management objectives from identification of deficiencies to non-conformance of the contract
  • Long term goals are the formulation, planning and implementation of strategies in conjunction with those the Client to optimize the quality management process and all other aspects of the project
  • Promote and support best quality management practices, including validating all non-conformances against the Contract, evaluating and assessing all deficiencies, providing justified recommendations to the client, communicating and providing transparency between all parties and maintaining all records of work completed for asset history and keeping stakeholders informed of status.
  • Conduct daily site-wide walk throughs and produce a daily inspection report documenting all activities, progress, safety concerns, raised deficiencies for the consultant’s review and all other issues on site
  • Support and aid with all other walk throughs including deficiencies, non-conformances, safety concerns, request for shutdowns, progress estimate walk throughs, changes, future work and final inspections of work complete
  • Review on site Inspection and Test Plans and report findings back to the Contract Administrator
  • Coordinate and conduct construction completion walk throughs with all stakeholders to achieve mechanical completion
  • Implement and enforce a strong site Quality Management System to ensure contract quality requirements are met
  • Manage and communicate all daily site issues with the relevant stakeholder and ensure resolution is achieved
  • Building positive and strong work relationships with all stakeholders to ensure collaboration, success and a positive and effective work environment
  • Assist with day to day contract administration duties as required
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Engineering Technology Diploma preferred or equivalent experience
  • Certified Engineering Technologist Certification (CET) with CTTAM considered an asset
  • Capable to play a central role in coordinating and integrating progress across
    internal and external program team member
  • Process improvement and re-engineering, balancing efficiency and
    effectiveness
  • Must have the capability to conduct analyses on complex data sets
  • Must demonstrate ability to pay close attention to details, and present good
    planning, organization, and time management skills.
  • Must have the ability to handle diverse tasks simultaneously and be able to work
    effectively with interruptions. Ability to handle confidential or sensitive
    information or issues
  • Must demonstrate ability to work in a team environment and willingness to
    assume additional or new responsibilities
  • Must demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills and the ability
    to independently compose routine written communications and technical reports
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and MS Project
  • Must have previous experience with engineering or construction project
    management processes
  • Must have previous experience with Project Management and business process
    quality control
  • Experience in leading technical/commercial investigations of complex data and
    information
  • Experience in the field of wastewater engineering
  • Knowledge of Contract, Standards, Codes and interpretation of Specifications
    and Contract drawings
  • Knowledge of operational processes or past role in an operating plant
    environment
