An exciting opportunity is available immediately in our Sales, Development and Marketing Team in North America. We are looking for an individual to join our team to lead the growth of Veolia’s services in the new electric vehicle batteries recycling market by developing circular solutions for end of life batteries.

  • Build the Electric Vehicle battery services market (water / waste / energy) for Veolia.
  • Source lithium battery recycling (and other) opportunities (end of life + production scraps).
  • Develop strategic partnerships to offer a wider range of solutions and / or to enter new markets.
  • Support business units by collaboratively developing growth and sales strategies for target customer segments or selected offers.
  • Support corporate development and business development efforts by providing market and competitive intelligence.

POSITION PURPOSE: As Market Director for EVB/EV you will be directly responsible for building relationships and developing new business opportunities. Your role will require close collaboration with operations teams across Veolia North America’s business units. You will report to the Senior Director Growth Markets.

PRIMARY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support development of new services and business models, focused on circular economy (namely battery recycling).
  • Build trust-based relationships with buyers and other stakeholders.
  • Understand customer needs and develop value propositions and offers to meet those needs, combining the full range of capabilities in the Veolia Group.
  • Lead project teams to respond to tender opportunities and to develop bespoke solutions for complex customer challenges.
  • Participate in the development of battery recycling projects.
  • Gather knowledge on the end markets (black-mass / purified salt selling).
  • Aid the development of potential partners.

NOTES:

  • This is a hybrid position.
  • Willing to travel 30% of the time in North America.
  • There is one (1) position open and it can be filled in Houston, Austin, Boston, Paramus, or San Francisco.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in Science, Engineering or Business (preferably Environmental focus); MBA or other advanced degrees a plus.
  • A minimum of 10 years of Industrial, Energy, Water, and/or Environmental business sector(s) with demonstrated experience in Sales and Business Development.
  • Preferable to have past experience in Automotive, Lithium-Ion Battery or Chemical industry.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work with people at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to successfully prioritize, manage complex projects, deadlines, and tasks with little supervision.
  • Collaborative and creative team player with drive for innovation and continuous improvement of systems, processes and tools.
  • Self-starter with strong organization, project management, time management, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to disaggregate issues, identify root-causes and recommend solutions.
  • Successfully works on multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
  • Ability to thrive in a flexible and collaborative environment.
