The Technical Product Owner is a subject matter expert for the product. They are responsible for enhancing the value proposition and maximizing the business value that the technology team delivers to our internal clients at Chit Chats. Working closely with developers, operations and other teams at Chit Chats, your commitment to continuous improvement means you will proactively create clarity and a shared understanding of the product across the company. 

Responsibilities

• Builds a shared understanding of the product across the company.

• Defines goals and creates the product vision and roadmap, MVP and product increments for the development of projects.

• Acts as the primary liaison between internal stakeholders and the development team to ensure that project goals are clear and aligned with business objectives.

• Manages the product backlog and prioritizes needs based on business value.

• Ensures the development team understands the What and the Why of each priority.

• Constantly maintains alignment between the high-level goals, the vision for a product or project, and the features that are being developed.

• Facilitates interviews and business requirement gathering sessions with internal and external stakeholders.

• Translates business needs into clear requirements that are understood by both business and technical audiences.

• Takes ownership of features, user stories, documentation and acceptance criteria. Engages in User Acceptance Testing.

• Evaluates product progress through each iteration.

• Actively participates in all tech meetings and scrums .

• 5+ years of product ownership or Agile product management experience.

• College diploma or university degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.

• Demonstrated business analysis experience facilitating workshops and documenting requirements using a variety of techniques such as story maps, business workflows and use cases.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, both in business and technical contexts.

• Demonstrated experience with the software development lifecycle.

• Strong customer service orientation.

• Ability to negotiate and build consensus.

• Experience in eCommerce an asset.

• Experience with SQL queries an asset.
