Job Description

As the Director of Human Resources, you will play a strategic and hands-on role that provides full cycle Human Resources strategic support to our operations and technology teams. This role is crucial to developing, executing, and providing human resources excellence and support.

What you will be doing:

  1. Based on the business goals, recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures with the development and continual improvements in human resources

  2. A hands-on approach to employee engagement and retention

  3. Demonstrated success with key performance metrics related to employee relations, retention, and reward programs, helping incorporate Chit Chats' value, vision, and mission.

  4. Strong understanding of employment standards related to a federally regulated company, training, development, and coaching 

  5. Focused in planning and execution with the ability to get hands-on with support across the entire company

  6. Prioritize short and long term strategic human resource plans in partnership with the Leadership team

  7. Provide effective HR support to employees and managers related to HR policies and procedures

  8. Support managers through coaching and performance management to assist in the creation and follow-through of action plans and performance documentation

  9. Provide coaching and advice on career development, recruitment practices, succession planning, compensation and performance management, terminations, diversity and inclusion, and other HR practices.

  10. Provide guidance on salary banding, benchmarks, and workforce planning. 

  11. Proactively identify and analyze the organizational structures (services, processes, resources, and tools), people capabilities, and change initiatives that are required.

Qualifications

What you bring:

  • Post-secondary education with a focus on human resources and/or equivalent work experience 

  • A resume that shows steady progression in people, culture and human resources

  • Prior experience leading, coaching, and mentoring direct reports

  • 5+ years' experience in warehouse, technology, or equivalent experience

  • Prior experience supporting hourly employee client groups such as warehouse, call centre, and technical employees

  • Experience working with a distributed workforce

  • Conceptual thinker with the ability to execute 

  • Strong understanding of employment standards across the country and the ability to proactively research and provide advice to internal stakeholders 

  • Proficient with HR and recruitment software

  • Experience with a distributed workforce across Canada
