Job Description

You will be responsible for the day to day operations and logistics of Chit Chats, reporting to the VP of Logistics.

This position will oversee all warehousing and operational logistics across Canada with main operation hubs in Burlington, Vancouver, Calgary, Montreal, and support strategic and annual growth plans of Chit Chats.

What you will be doing:

  • Lead and manage the day-to-day logistics (branches, hubs, fleet, and compliance) nationwide

  • Proactively anticipate problems. Act as the escalation point, working with stakeholders and partners to mitigate issues before our clients are impacted and escalate as needed.

  • Lead and develop a team of 7 front-line regional and department managers

  • Manage employee relations issues, provide coaching and skills development, performance management, and reviews

  • Develop and implement scorecards for internal operations and carrier partners that you’ll use to regularly measure and evaluate the performance of our teams and carriers

  • Continuously improve our logistics for maximum operational efficiency, cost reduction, and client experience.

  • Develop and iterate on improving Standard Operating Procedures

  • Oversee new branch and hub openings across Canada

  • Keep up-to-date with the shipping and logistics landscape domestically and abroad and share information with Leadership.

  • Maintain a healthy, safe, and positive working environment

Qualifications

Who you are:

  • Must have a minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in Logistics, Distribution, Warehouse Operations, or Supply Chain Management.

  • Undergraduate Degree or training/certification in Logistics, Distribution, Supply chain, or another related area is an asset or equivalent experience. 

  • Experience in the following categories: operational excellence, customer service leadership, the leadership of diverse personnel. 

  • Proven analytical, problem-solving, problem management, and conceptual skills

  • Decisive, confident, and clear communicator

  • Experience working with remote, distributed, cross-functional teams ideally in the e-commerce logistics space

  • Well-versed in the nuances and obligations of federally-regulated companies in Canada
