Job Description

As a Software Developer at Vention…

You will be part of our Machine Apps Team as a core contributor to our software development efforts, responsible for delivering features and maintaining the health of our production systems. You will own the full product life cycle, which includes developing new features, building robust test automation, and fixing bugs across our applications and deployment pipelines.

Working in a highly collaborative environment, you will partner with product management, development managers, and business stakeholders to drive feature development, ensure high code quality, and maintain test coverage to meet all requirements and specifications.

What You’ll Do:

  • Develop, implement, and deploy new features for our cloud and edge-based machine apps stack, including the Rapid series Palletizer, while maintaining overall software quality and integrity.
  • Design and build core application software and develop associated automated test cases to cover new features, prioritizing development tasks and communicating technical risks.
  • Contribute to and maintain CI/CD and deployment pipelines, ensuring automated tests are set up with representative data to achieve agreed upon test coverage.
  • Create and run automated operational tests to generate control reports on live production environments and ensure data integrity during normal system use or data updates. Work with IT to create alerts for over-boundary cases. If need be write tst plan to cover complex features based on client facings requirements.
  • Have a hands-on approach to deploying and managing your development and testing environments (basic shell commands, basic Git use).
  • Own bug resolutions and feature development during the development "sprints", ensuring code quality standards are met, issues are caught before deployment, and features are revalidated post deployment.
  • Ensure that all features are developed with an automation roadmap based on expected consistency of the feature set.
  • Build robust processes and infrastructure to streamline development and quality activities, increase test coverage, and overall increase the quality of our products. Among others, this may include continuous integration and automated test suites.
  • Collaborate with other teams to help ensure end-to-end integration testing is well documented and has sufficient coverage for cross-team projects.

  • Proven experience writing and maintaining automated test suites (unit, integration, E2E)
  • Hands-on with CI/CD pipelines, Git, and modern dev practices
