Job Description
As an Operations Manager you will lead our electro mechanical assembly operations. You will oversee the performance, documentation, and development of teams producing automation components such as industrial controllers, motors, actuators, and pneumatic manifolds.
This role sits at the core of our operations and our platforms — ensuring on-time delivery, cost efficiency, quality standards, and the continuous evolution of our manufacturing capabilities. You are both a coach and a builder, a people, operations, and technical leader, someone who leads by example, drives standardization, and partners closely with engineering, design, supply chain, and logistics to bring product ideas to life on the floor.
What You Will Do
- Lead and Coach: Lead mechanical and electrical assembly teams to achieve high quality, throughput, and accountability.
- Insourcing & Outsourcing Execution: Support the strategic evaluation and execution of insourcing and outsourcing products to balance internal capacity, cost, and lead times.
- Standardization: Maintain and continuously improve standard work documentation (work instructions, visuals, BOM references).
- Process Optimization: Apply Lean manufacturing principles and 5S practices to structure workflows and optimize efficiency.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure IPC-compliant practices and adherence to industry standards.
- Performance Tracking: Track and improve KPIs related to quality, throughput, inventory accuracy, and service level.
- Problem Solving: Implement root cause analysis and corrective actions for production issues.
- Engineering Collaboration: Partner with engineering on design for manufacturability and ramp-up of new products.
- Team Development: Own training plans and support technician development.
- Inventory Management: Manage inventory control processes and drive component readiness.
- Cost Efficiency: Drive cost improvement initiatives across materials, processes, and labour.
- Delivery: Lead order fulfillment and scheduling activities to ensure reliable and on-time delivery.
- Continuous Improvement: Champion continuous improvement projects to reduce waste, standardize work, and improve lead time.
Qualifications
We’re looking for skills, intellect, and experiences that will help you succeed in this role but we also know that various profiles (not only the one described below) could be successful. If you’re excited about what you read and think you’d be a great fit, we encourage you to apply, even if you don’t meet every single qualification.
- Education: Degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering preferred (or equivalent experience and education).
- Experience: 8–10 years of experience in an electrical/electronic manufacturing or assembly environment with team leadership responsibility.
- Strategic Sourcing: Proven experience managing Make-vs-Buy, outsourcing and insourcing transitions for hardware products.
- Methodologies: Hands-on experience with Lean tools, 5S, root cause analysis (RCA), and production system implementation.
- Standards: Familiarity with IPC standards (e.g., IPC-A-610, 620) and quality inspection protocols for assemblies.
- Technical Skills: Solid understanding of CAD drawings, electronic schematics, basic software, new product introduction and manufacturing documentation.
- Systems: Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel and ERP/WMS systems.
- Agility: Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and evolving demands.
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to lead teams and coordinate across departments.
- Mindset: Proactive, resourceful, and committed to operational excellence.
