Job Description

As Automation Engineer, you will serve as a technical expert responsible for ensuring outstanding customer support, giving product feedb Vack to our development teams, paving the way for delivering turnkey solutions in Europe, overseeing theXC in Berlin, and leading technical training sessions. 

Your mission is to guarantee exceptional customer satisfaction, and the successful deployment of turnkey projects while adhering to expectations and lead times.

More specifically the role includes but is not limited to:

Customer Support – Provide comprehensive support throughout the entire sales cycle, enhancing the overall customer experience including:

  • Training: Conduct VAP, pre-sale, and post-sale training sessions covering technical onboarding, assembly training, maintenance, and technical support during equipment commissioning.

  • Logistics and Operations: Proactively address logistics and delivery issues, acting as the primary liaison between operations, sales, and clients. Handle tasks such as order processing, follow-up, returns, and Zendesk administration.

  • Remote Support: Engage with customers in Remote Support subscription calls, especially for VIP-level clients.

  • Communication Management: Monitor phone calls and ensure proper routing within the organization. Collaborate with other departments to drive continuous improvement projects that enhance the customer experience.

  • Process Optimization: Create and maintain a roadmap for continuous improvement, optimizing the end-to-end delivery process. Provide valuable feedback to relevant teams (Product, Applications, Sales, Marketing) to resolve issues and enhance future deliveries.

Integration: Forge and shape the future of the deployment division in EMEA by assuming the forefront position in commissioning turnkey solutions across Europe including:

  • Project Management: Act as the project manager for the delivery and commissioning of complex equipment, facilitating collaboration between internal and external stakeholders.

  • Pre-Sale Support: Assist in the pre-sale process by conducting testing and leveraging your product expertise.

  • Turnkey Projects: Execute project management tasks and manage customer communications related to Vention’s turnkey projects.

  • On-Site Deployment: Install, configure, deploy, and commission Vention’s turnkey projects at client sites, focusing on both hardware and software integration.

  • Post-Commissioning Support: Take ownership of the initial post-commissioning support phase for clients, ensuring a smooth transition into regular operations.

  • Documentation: Develop and refine documentation related to the delivery process, with the goal of eventually transferring execution responsibilities to different teams.

  • Workspace Optimization: Ensure the efficient organization and functionality of the Berlin VXC Demo Room and the warehouse deployment zone to boost productivity.

Technical Expertise: Become a subject matter expert on Vention’s flagship products, mastering both the hardware and software components including:

  • Automation System Design: Program, and validate automation systems according to client specifications, utilizing technologies such as Vention MachineMotion controller, Vention MachineLogic programming, Python, and robot programming.

  • Robotics: Support Robot Applications and validate robot applications, including platforms like Fanuc, Doosan, Universal Robot, and EPSON.

  • Automation Programming: Act as an expert in Vention's programming stack: MachineLogic, Python, Ethernet IP, and Low-Level Socket API.

  • Application Engineering Support: Assist with ad hoc projects where required pending capacity.

Qualifications

  • Mechanical/ Electrical/ Electronics/ Mechatronics, Robotics, Computer, Electro-mechanical or Industrial Engineering.
  • You are proficient in German and English - another major European language is a plus
  • Good overall computer skills with demonstrated ability in a programming language, preferably Python
  • Relevant experience in system troubleshooting
  • Experience with the Linux terminal is a pro
  • You have strong communication skills, and it comes easy to you presenting to clients
  • You are passionate about daily client interactions and mechanical design
  • Willingness to travel 15% of the time
