Reporting directly to the Senior Application Engineering Manager, you will create custom machines using Vention CAD software and advise clients on our industrial solutions. You will work closely with customers on hundreds of industrial automation projects and gain an insider’s knowledge of leading automotive, robotics, and aerospace companies.

You will be involved in pre-sale scope validation, designing, testing, and post-sale activities. Working in collaboration with Account Executives, Solution Architects, Custom Applications Lead, Delivery Engineers, and Integration Coaches, you will ensure that our clients are set-up for success with their automation project.

In your role, you will maintain strong relationships with Sales, Product Development, Product Line Management, and Application Development teams to provide feedback from the field to help prioritize the Roadmap and contribute to the Go To Market strategy.

The role

• Work closely with customers at flagship manufacturing companies to understand their requirements and create customized machines using Vention’s 3D MachineBuilder and library of modular components
• Lead design review sessions with clients to provide feedback and insight on their design
• Help qualify projects and support the sales team with project feasibility checks
• Prepare automation system diagrams and machine workflows
• Select third party components and create custom parts and drawings
• Mentor Application Engineers and contribute to the development of their technical skills and knowledge
• Help your peers through brainstorming sessions and reviewing designs for performance, structural integrity, efficiency, and quality
• Contribute to the development of Vention parts library and CAD by providing continuous feedback to our hardware and software team to improve the product
• You provide training on designing with the MachineBuilder to clients and colleagues
• You test and troubleshoot designs assembled in-house prior to shipment
• You support the deployment of machines and after sales activities
• You contribute to internal tools, references, standards, work methods and best practices

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or any other related engineering field
• 4-7 years of experience in a mechanical design environment
• OIQ Permit to practice engineering as a full-fledged engineer.
• You have a take charge attitude with a solution-oriented mindset
• You have demonstrated a strong desire to share your knowledge and elevate your colleagues
• You thrive in fast-paced environments which requires to handle multiple projects simultaneously
