Job Description

Vention MachineBuilder is the fastest and easiest way to design and order factory equipment.  You can create automated equipment, robot cells and tooling in minutes with the only CAD software built exclusively for the factory floor.

As the Product Owner for MachineBuilder, you will interface with clients to capture emerging needs, drive respective software development teams and support sales & marketing for successful product launches. Leveraging your product management expertise, you will be uniquely positioned to guide architectural choices, drive effective prioritization of our effort and own the product roadmap. More specifically, your role will include the following responsibilities

Product management

  • Conduct client interviews to understand feature opportunities/gap
  • Conduct benchmarking of competitor's product and pricing
  • Conduct analysis to inform new product specifications and evaluate performance of existing products
  • Scope and maintain the product roadmap
  • Prepare detailed brief for new software/features, including business logic
  • Define pricing for monetized products and forecast revenue potential
  • Lead preparation for Quarterly Product Review
  • Develop sales enablement material and train various go-to market teams (Account Executive, Application Engineers, Customer Success, etc.)
  • Work closely with the marketing team to provide input for product launch campaigns

Product ownership

  • Organize and prioritize ticket backlog
  • Breakdown product brief for new product/feature in sequenced ticket for efficient execution
  • Prepare and host sprint kick-off, ensuring software team support the scope and can successfully define the "how"
  • Ensure deadline compliance for each feature/product and measure team performance 
  • Conduct business QA on new products/features to ensure the user experience contribute to elevating the Vention platform
  • Work with software team and HR to ensure teams are properly staffed with expertise required to deliver the annual roadmap
  • Maintain dev-team happiness by scheduling period of technical debt / bug elimination (or allow some refactoring as part of new feature development)

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, computer science or equivalent
  • 5+ years experience as a product manager, product owner or application engineer 
  • Strong knowledge of CAD software
  • Understanding of software user interface/user experience best practices
  • Excellent communication, leadership and collaboration skills
  • Highly motivated self starter
  • A proven track record of successful product launches
  • Strong project management and risk mitigation mindset, with demonstrated ability to build contingency plan and execute them
  • Ability to work in a fast pace environment with quick turnarounds/good time management
