Job Description

Note: This role will primarily require you to be in the office full-time.

We are seeking a remarkable leader to lead our sales organization across EMEA. As the most senior member of the EMEA team, this role presents the opportunity for significant responsibility and influence on the success and trajectory of Vention. Based upon results this role also presents the opportunity to assume additional responsibilities across functions within EMEA. 

Lead the development and execution of the EMEA strategies to deliver results. The Vice President of Sales provides leadership, direction, and resource stewardship to the organizations sales function. As the organization’s senior-most sales leader in EMEA, the VP Sales is accountable for overall sales organization performance, the profitable achievement of sales organization goals, and for aligning sales objectives with firm business strategy. The VP Sales reports to the President; Chief Revenue Officer.  

 

  • Provides leadership to the EMEA sales organization’s management team, while fostering a culture of accountability, professional development, high-performance, and ethical behavior.   

  • Develop, implement, and execute an overall strategy to considerably grow revenue and new business across the EMEA region

  • Take responsibility across EMEA for Sales, Account Management, Application Engineering and Customer Success teams to actively develop and grow talent to achieve the strategic and annual plans. 

  • Participate in key customer/partner presentations and maintain excellent customer relationships throughout the company’s targeted major accounts.  

  • Lead EMEA sales teams to increase new business and expansion sales – focusing on expansion of new solutions in region and community development

  • Ensure the bottoms up and top down sales motions operate in harmony across the region, with the impact being exceeding sales targets and NPS goals.  

  • Provide exceptional leadership to inspire a dynamic and fast-growing team  

  • Be an active and vocal member of the global senior leadership team, ensuring that the EMEA region has a major voice in the ongoing long-term development of the company and its offerings 

  • Support Marketing as requested for relevant event and press opportunities 

  • Develop and maintain systems and processes that provide genuine visibility and accurately forecast sales results and opportunities, as well as provide quantitative and qualitative input for strategic decisions in the group. 

  • Be an active and recognizable focal point and figurehead for the company within the region, ensuring that the company’s prestige and influence continues to grow.

  • Aligns the EMEA sales organization’s objectives with Ventions business strategy through active participation in corporate strategic planning, sales strategy development, forecasting, sales resource planning, and budgeting.  

  • Meets assigned targets for profitable sales volume, market share, and other key financial performance objectives.  

  • Leads learning and development initiatives impacting the EMEA sales organization, and provides stewardship of local sales and sales management talent. 

  • Through active, productive partnerships with Senior Sales Leadership, Human Resources and Enablement functions, the VP of Sales EMEA establishes learning and development objectives essential to the sales organization’s success, oversees the effective local delivery of training and development programs, actively assesses the value of training and development investments, and monitors learning and development outcomes to ensure high ROI in the region.  

  • Reinforces and governs the EMEA sales organizations performance management system. This includes the guiding sales organizational principles for managing performance, prioritizing critical performance measures for the team; and ensuring all key sales and sales management associates in the region are held accountable for assigned results. 

  • Leads EMEA sales organization change initiatives by collaborating closely with Senior Sales Leadership and continuously assessing the need for organizational change, championing change initiatives, and removing obstacles impeding constructive organizational change.  

  • Establishes and maintains productive peer-to-peer relationships with customers and prospects. 

  • Achieves assigned organizational objectives for sales, profits, volume, product mix, and other strategic goals.  

  • Supports the achievement of strategic objectives critical to other functional areas within the firm.

Qualifications

  • A world-class, experienced sales professional with at least 15 years of proven success leading and scaling the go-to-market function.   

  • Experience in, and strong understanding of, the EMEA Region. 

  • Strong leadership skills; must have a consistent track record in recruiting and developing high performing people. 

  • A deep understanding and experience of working with a North American headquarters, skilled in managing collaboration and the exchange of best practices combined with market dynamics

  • Experience scaling sales, account management and customer success teams. 

  • Demonstrable record of increasing management responsibility with cross-functional capabilities and multidisciplinary expertise. 

  • Experience of having grown and run an international or large regional organization. 

  • Evidence of having thrived in a fast growth, open environment. Ideally will have worked in a company in hyper growth 

  • Consistent record of exceeding sales targets and motivating sales teams to exceed targets is critical.  Experience of delivering excellence across multiple functions. 

  • Experience in manufacturing and industrial automation, a plus. In particular, if highly networked within the industry and able to break into and navigate executive (c-suite) customer audiences 

  • Must have the ability to nurture and develop commercial teams to exceed targets and view 100% of target as a minimum performance standard.
