That is our purpose. That is what we sell. And we love it. Let me tell you a bit about myself, my name is Joe, I look after Sales & Revenue at Vention. I began my career many years ago as an entry level sales rep with big ambitions and very little experience. In this job description, I will give you insights into how we are here to help you succeed, learn and love what you do. I’ll also explain why Vention is special.  

So what is the Account Executive job?

Thankfully, selling today is so different from the old-fashioned days of steak dinners and golf invites. We have awesome technology to help us be productive and efficient. We use Gong, ZoomInfo, SalesLoft, Salesforce.com, Seismic, Lessonly and more. Why is this important? Because it makes your job easier. We work as a team with daily huddles, sharing successes and failures, reviewing deals as a team and learning how to get better all the time. 

You will learn how to follow up on inbound leads, how to work with partners and how to prospect to our ideal customers. You will become an expert in discovery calls, sales process, qualification methodology, product demonstrations, negotiations and closing. You will learn how to build a qualified pipeline; how to manage it; how to predict your results and deliver them consistently month in, month out. 

You are part of a team, supported by Application Engineers, Product Specialist Sales, Integration Coaches and sales management. We win as one, collectively together as a team. And if you have already started down this path, then you will simply get better at Vention. We will support you, push you and be there to help you realize your full potential and your aspirations.  

Qualifications

What are we looking for?

Good people. Let me explain. There are some rules: no brilliant jerks, no sacred cows and customer first. This is a meritocracy. We hire and commit to people who are passionate, have heart and desire. We value intelligence and curiosity. You will be a great communicator: clear, confident and concise. 

About half of our AEs have some connection to engineering: perhaps a family member, a degree, or a personal interest in making things. The other half come with no domain expertise but have the belief that automation and robotics are going to change the world for the better. They are right.

We are looking for people who have worked in sales for a year or two. If you haven’t, that's ok. Just be ready to convince us why you're ready to do this. You will need to share examples of persistence, creativity and coachability. And we care that you are a great communicator - someone who loves talking with customers. And it’s ok to be an introverted extrovert too :-)

And lastly, if you speak a foreign language that will help a lot in our Berlin and Montreal offices - and your chances to work in other offices in the future.
