Job Description
- Demonstrates a high degree of Velaa’s culture and service standards awareness.
- Plan, organize, and supervise all landscaping and gardening operations across the island.
- Ensure all landscaped areas are maintained to the highest aesthetic and horticultural standards.
- Oversee plant nursery operations, planting schedules, pruning, fertilizing, mulching, watering, and seasonal landscaping plans.
- Ensure proper maintenance of plants in villas, public areas, beaches, pathways, outlets, and back-of-house areas.
- Manage landscape lighting related to plants and garden features.
- Implement and monitor integrated pest control programs, including coordination with third-party pest control providers.
- Ensure timely response to guest requests, complaints, and operational issues related to landscaping.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure seamless service delivery and island-wide consistency.
- Lead, motivate, and supervise the landscaping team, fostering teamwork and professionalism.
- Conduct regular training sessions on horticulture practices, pest control, machinery operation, safety, and SOP compliance.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5–7 years of experience in landscaping or gardening management, preferably in a luxury resort environment.
- Degree or diploma in Horticulture, Landscaping, Agriculture, or a related field is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of tropical plants, soil management, irrigation systems, and pest control.
- Good administrative and reporting skills.
- Financial awareness and experience managing budgets and inventories
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills & confident to anticipate and manage processes.
