Job Description

  • Demonstrates a high degree of Velaa’s culture and service standards awareness.
  • Comprehensive understanding of various spa treatments, techniques, and equipment is essential, encompassing massage therapy, skincare treatments, body treatments, and Thai massage.
  • Provides professional and engaging wellness therapies and massage treatments
  • to our guests.
  • Acknowledges and responds to relevant customer queries, needs, and expectations.
  • Upsells and promotes spa products and treatments to guests.
  • Applies best practices and is up to date with market trends.
  • Upholds the values and standards of Velaa Private Island.
  • Hands-on experience in treatments, customer service, and conducting comprehensive training sessions to empower the team in delivering tailored guest experiences.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or certification in spa therapy/massage therapy from a recognized institution.
  • Certified Train the Trainer qualification.
  • Strong knowledge and certification in anatomy & physiology.
  • Certifications in multiple spa modalities, such as massage therapies (Swedish, Deep Tissue, Thai, Aromatherapy)
  • Body treatments and rituals
  • Skincare and facials
  • Manicure & Pedicure
  • Additional certifications in wellness, holistic therapies or specialised treatments will be an advantage

Additional Information

  • Minimum of 3–5 years experience as a spa trainer/senior therapist/head therapist.
  • Previous experience in a 5-star luxury hotel or branded resort spa is mandatory.
  • Proven track record in training therapists, conducting assessments, and maintaining treatment standards.
  • Experience in pre-opening spas and new treatment rollouts is an added advantage.
  • Knowledge of holistic and wellness-based therapies (Ayurveda, Energy work, Sound healing, Tuning fork therapy, mindfulness-based treatments, etc.)
  • Knowledge of HIFU treatments.
  • Knowledge to use various facial machines.
  • Basic knowledge of spa operations, hygiene standards and SOP implementation
  • Good administrative and reporting skills.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills & confident to anticipate and manage processes.
