Job Description
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Demonstrates a high degree of Velaa’s culture and service standards and reflects the values of Velaa Private Island.
- Prepare and present authentic Italian dishes, ensuring taste, texture, and presentation meet luxury dining standards..
- Collaborate with the Executive Chef to design themed dinners, chef’s tables, and seasonal specials.
- Ideal candidate will have in-depth expertise in regional Italian dishes, from fresh pasta and risotto to artisanal pizza and desserts, while adapting recipes to meet the expectations of an international fine-dining audience.
- Perform any other related duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
- A minimum of 5 years experience as a Chef specializing in Italian cuisine at a 5-star resort/hotel.
- Knowledge to create elegantly designed offerings for high-profile guests.
- Experience in Maldives or with living in remote locations will be a plus.
- Good command of written & spoken English.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills & confident to anticipate and manage processes.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
- Food safety certification preferred. Highly skilled in authentic cuisine
- Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times.
