Job Description
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Demonstrates a high degree of Velaa’s culture and service standards awareness and acts as a role model to other colleagues.
- Collaborate closely with department heads to ensure safety and security procedures are consistently followed throughout the resort.
- Uphold resort policies, contributing to a positive, respectful, and productive work atmosphere.
- Coordinate and communicate with external authorities during emergencies, inspections, and official visits.
- Respond swiftly and decisively to incidents, remaining professional, diplomatic, and firm when enforcing protocols.
- Conduct regular patrols to monitor for fire hazards, unsafe practices, and unusual or unsafe conditions.
- Ensure full compliance with Velaa's top-tier standards of guest and colleague well-being.
Qualifications
SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a 5-star luxury resort setting in the Maldives.
- In-depth knowledge of local labor laws, employment regulations, and safety & security best practices.
- Strong command of English, both written and spoken, for clear communication and reporting.
- Proficient in Microsoft 365 (especially Excel and PowerPoint), CCTV monitoring systems, and emergency response protocols.
- Certified in fire safety and first aid, physically fit with lifeguard training preferred.
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills with the ability to handle sensitive information discreetly.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills with a collaborative team spirit.
- Able to adapt quickly, manage shifting priorities, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
