Job Description
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Demonstrates a high degree of Velaa’s culture and service standards and reflects the values of Velaa Private Island.
- Should be responsible for managing the pastry kitchen, restaurant's pastry section and the bakery.
- Oversee all aspects of the pastry department, including menu development, production and presentation.
- Create and execute innovative pastry menus that align with the restaurant's culinary vision and seasonal offerings.
- Train, mentor, and inspire pastry team members, fostering a culture of creativity, collaboration and excellence.
- Develop and maintain the pastry menu, including desserts, breads, pastries, and everything related to pastry & bakery.
Qualifications
SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum of 3 years of international experience in luxury 5-star hotels or resorts as an Executive Pastry Chef, with practical involvement in leading and managing pastry team.
- Must have strong knowledge of pastry & bakery techniques, ingredients, and equipment's.
- Must have an outgoing, energetic and positive personality.
- Creative and capable of developing exciting menu offerings.
- Must have excellent knowledge of HACCP and other food safety standards.
- Good command of written & spoken English.
- Flexible to work around guest demands with an eye for detail.
- Ability to prioritize guest needs and always maintain a courteous demeanor.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
