About the role
The Senior Protection & Control Engineer ensures Vector’s protection systems are designed and operated to detect and isolate network faults as quickly as possible to minimise risk to people and equipment. The role supports Network Operations with fault response and investigations, provides project design and delivery support and manages the asset life cycle of the protection systems.
This position offers an exciting opportunity to gain exposure to a variety of projects on a scale you don’t find elsewhere, and could be the start of an exciting career with Vector with endless opportunities for development and progression.
Who we are looking for
- You’ll have a bachelor’s degree in a related field such as Electrical Engineering or Electrical Power Systems Engineering, with experience in protection electric power systems
- You’ll be technically competent with protective relay applications, including electronic relays, and best industry practices
- A familiarity with SCADA and digital communication systems, as well as experience with configuration of Siemens and SEL numerical protection relays, would be an advantage
- Design experience is an added bonus
- You’ll be experienced mentoring/coaching other team members to share your wealth of experience.
