About the role

Bluecurrent (formerly Vector Metering) is a leading provider of innovative smart metering services and solutions in New Zealand and Australia. As a B2B company, we partner with leading energy retailers and distributors in New Zealand and Australia. 

The Billing Operations Specialist is responsible for data collection, organization, and analysis of billing data which will contribute to various operational performance reports, dashboards and associated insights.

In addition to financial reporting and insights, the Billing Operations Specialist will also assist with the delivery of all scheduled billing operations processes and procedures. This also extends to the investigation and resolution of customer, supplier and vendor disputes, anomalies, and queries.

The Billing Operations Specialist will be required to utilize technology to develop and implement billing solutions across multiple business departments, and to assist with system and/or process enhancements to improve and streamline billing solutions and ultimately the overall billing environment.

The Billing Operations Specialist works in a complex and challenging operational billing environment. Therefore, the Billing Operations Specialist must be comfortable working in a dynamic, fast paced, challenging and extremely data centric environment.

Who we are looking for 

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

  • A Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent commercial experience in an analytical and/or financial environment.
  • 3 years’ experience in a commercial billing, finance or accounting environment.
  • Demonstrated competency in the manipulation and calculation of data – must be highly numeric.
  • Proven ability to analyse and interpret complex information of a financial nature.
  • Experience with Oracle platforms and SAP desirable.
  • Ability to develop, implement and track process and procedure improvement.
  • Strong priority management skills including, critical ability to coordinate and balance multiple activities in a time-sensitive environment, under pressure, and meeting deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and communication skills.
