Job Description

Energise your career
If you like the idea of working on projects that make a fundamental difference to the lives of people in your community, then perhaps you should think about a role at Vector.

So much of what we take for granted in our everyday lives is enabled by the work that Vector is doing to ensure our infrastructure is fit for purpose for a rapidly changing future.

Across our network we are transforming the way that Auckland's critical infrastructure is delivered through high-tech data-led solutions and customer first thinking. It's a dynamic, energising place to work because what you do here matters to everyone.

About the role
On offer: the chance to play a key part in the delivery of projects that make an invaluable contribution to Auckland. Put simply, the work you’ll be doing keeps the lights on and homes warm across Tāmaki Makaurau.

As Programme Manager, you’ll be responsible for developing and implementing effective Programme Management capability and providing portfolio funnel management and scenario analysis based on internal and external resource availability, electricity distribution network and third party constraints.

You’ll engage with key Vector stakeholders to develop a strategic view of business requirements and translate those into a programme of work that optimises the use of available resources to achieve regulatory and financial year build targets.

You’ll work together with the Portfolio Managers and Network Performance Managers to manage a dynamic programme of work taking a medium- to long-term view, ensuring that business outcomes are prioritised and delivered through the programme, and full and transparent reporting is available to all stakeholders.

Who we are looking for

  • You’ll have a wealth of experience in project management, ideally with certification in project planning and/or scheduling
  • You’ll be highly proficient in project scheduling software, ideally MS Project/Project Online
  • You’ll have advanced Excel skills, familiarity with Power BI reporting tools, and experience with SAP-FM
  • You’ll have an in-depth knowledge of the nature of projects within the electrical distribution industry, including civil construction contracts.

What we can offer you
Whether it’s the opportunity to do meaningful mahi and build a legacy for Auckland and New Zealand, to work in an innovative and transformative sector, or our commitment to supporting your development, there’s a myriad of reasons to choose a career with Vector.
