Job Description

Energise your career
If you like the idea of working in an industry that makes a fundamental difference to the lives of people in your community, then perhaps you should think about a role at Vector.

So much of what we take for granted in our everyday lives is enabled by the work that Vector is doing to ensure our infrastructure is fit for purpose for a rapidly changing future.

Across our networks we are transforming the way that Auckland's critical infrastructure is delivered through high-tech data-led solutions and customer first thinking. It's a dynamic, energising place to work because what you do here matters to everyone.

Ko tā mātou mahi | Our role

The Principal Risk Advisor is responsible for implementing and overseeing an integrated enterprise risk management process across the business. As a leading voice in risk management, the Principal Risk Partner will define, embed and promote effective management of business risks and resilience activities to ensure a constant state of readiness and to support effective decision-making.

You’ll partner with senior business leaders to promote efficient and sound business processes and practices, risk-informed decision-making, effective risk mitigation, assurance, accountability, and compliance with laws, mandates, and policies.

As a thought-leader, you’ll exercise a high degree of independent judgement and act as a leader within the organisation. At the same time, however, this role will see you roll up your sleeves and get stuck in on the operational side, partnering with stakeholders across the organisation to provide hands-on support.

Te hunga e kimihia ana e mātau | Who we are looking for

  • You’ll have a wealth of experience in senior risk management, with expertise in embedding a strong risk culture with a large organisation
  • You’ll be experienced in risk management at both a strategic/governance level as well as an operational level
  • You’ll have a track record of providing leadership in project management, auditing, and risk management techniques
  • You’ll be adept at understanding the importance of connections within the organisation, possessing strong emotional intelligence and leadership in relation to business processes and problem resolution
  • You’ll have strong written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to articulate risk management to all levels of the business and to partner with, and influence, others.
