About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Network Operations Engineer to own the ‘business as usual’ operations of our network infrastructure. This roles function is to work in a small fast-paced, supportive and collaborative operations team looking after carrier, internet and customer networks. 

You’ll provide day to day operational technical tier 1 & 2 support to Vector Fibre customers and be primarily responsible for the following:

  • Incident management across Vector Fibre network environments
  • Supporting customers with their network issues from identification through to resolution
  • Configuration management and delivery of customer services
  • Providing On-call customer service support after-hours and in the weekends

Who we are looking for
To be successful in this role you will ideally have 2+years working experience for MSP or Telco with CCNA or equivalent experience.  You will also ideally have:

  • A good understanding of IP Networking fundamentals
  • Prior experience configuring network switches or NIDs
  • Prior experience troubleshooting and or configuration of some of the following - OSPF, BGP, EIGRP in a production environment
  • A basic understanding of MPLS and VRFs
  • Familiarity with network OSS tools (one or many of the following – Incident, change, problem, CMDB, Order management, configuration management, NMS, EMS, RADIUS, DNS)
  • Experience with Ciena equipment
  • An understanding of MEF services, EVPL, EPL etc.
  • An understanding of OTN services
  • Prior experience working with Chorus bitstream services and RSPs
  • Some scripting experience (Ansible, Python/Bash/Shell/SQL)
  • Prior experience using ServiceNow
  • Experience supporting a multi-vendor network environment
