About the role

As the Operations Manager - North, you will be responsible for leading the LPG filling and distribution operations across our upper North Island depots.

In collaboration with Depot Leads, you’ll be driving workforce planning, peak-load staff planning, ensuring operational KPI’s are met and maintained in line with industry standards and regulations, all while ensuring an efficient and safe cylinder delivery service is provided to our LPG residential and commercial customers.  You will need to identify development and training opportunities for the team and assist in delivery of those training programmes.

Providing strong and effective leadership, cultivating a culture of high performing teams with a strong focus on the health and safety of our people, customers, and the public, is another key aspect of this role.

About you
You will have previous experience managing an operations team, preferably within the transport/ commercial industry. You are approachable, collaborative, professional and organised. You thrive in a leadership position, have good communication and business knowledge and can understand and implement effective techniques. You have experience in safe work practices and hazard awareness along with outstanding customer service and a customer first attitude.  Your ability to problem solve and make decisions will hold you in good stead. Building strong working relationships and rapport with others at all levels of the business comes naturally to you.   You will also have:

• A relevant tertiary qualification together with solid knowledge and understanding of the regulatory requirements of the Land Transport Act and Storage and Handling of LPG and Gas Installation. (preferred)
• A Class 2 HT license with a solid driving history and ideally with a Dangerous Goods Endorsement (assistance can be given to obtain DG)
• LPG Cylinder filling certification (assistance can be given to obtain this)
• Computer proficiency is a must, including proven documentation, scheduling and resource planning experience.
• Team leader and player.
• A proactive, solutions focused individual who is a strong decision maker and leads by example
• A demonstrated passion for people development and knowledge building
• Excellent verbal and written communication and time management skills

This role can be based in either Auckland or Hamilton
