The role:

Based in Penrose, our passionate and motivated Auckland team have a newly created opportunity for a Financial Business Partner to join our high performing team. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, this is a critical role, and you will be accountable for providing financial leadership and commercial insights on business performance. Working collaboratively with the HRV Finance team, you will provide strategic and tactical insights on business opportunities, and provide budgeting, forecasting, reporting and management accounting support.

This is a complex and fast paced role, which will see you partnering with key stakeholders in the business. You will provide advice and insights on budgeting, financial planning, and reporting, ensuring there is a strong understanding of the key drivers of their financials and business performance.

You will showcase your proactive eye for detail, identifying opportunities to enhance our processes and solve problems as they arise. Exceptional communication skills, problem solving and being self-motivated will come naturally to you, along with a desire to learn, grow with the business and develop your career.

As this is a newly created position, we are looking for someone with strong leadership skills who can swiftly take charge and lead their team to ensure things get done quickly, efficiently, and accurately.

Ideally, you’ll have industry experience within FMCG, retail or household / building products sector or franchisee networks. Alternatively, if may be experience within a large accounting firm, where you have had auditing experience, or provided advisory / consulting services.

To succeed in this role, we’re looking for someone with:

  • 5+ years’ experience in a Financial Controller or similar finance role
  • A tertiary qualification in commerce/business and a CA/CIMA or CPA qualification
  • Demonstrated experience implementing financial, management and IT systems coupled with data analytics
  • Demonstrated success managing financial, budgeting, and commercial planning
  • The ability to engage with multiple and differing points of view and exercise sound and influential judgement in decision making
  • High level of leadership skills and ability to work collaboratively with all stakeholders to achieve first class safety performance, cost efficiency and operational excellence
  • Strong communication, influencing, negotiation, analytical and presentation skills that are adaptable to all levels throughout the organisation
  • Exceptional problem solving and interpersonal relationship skills
