About the role
You will work in our Engineering team alongside our Business Development and Delivery teams to design and calculate costs associated with Solar and Battery systems and ensure a consistent and sound commercial approach is applied at tendering.

We are looking for someone who can contribute to our success by providing:

Solar power system design — off grid and grid connected systems.

  • Production of technical drawings - electrical schematics and mechanical layouts.
  • Using engineering tools like PVSYST, Retscreen, Homer, etc. to develop solar power system data analysis.
  • Working with AUTOCAD or similar tools provided by VPS to generate solar layouts and 3D simulations.
  • Assist with commercial tenders by preparing technical documents/packages and drawings.
  • Write technical/engineering reports as required, including and not limited to System Manuals, System Performance Reports, FEED (Front End Engineering Design), FD (Functional Description), FAT reports (Factory Acceptance Test report), ITR (Inspection Test Report), SCAT (Site Commissioning and Testing) along with other technical documentation.
  • Coordination of project elements under the direction of the Project Lead, including engineering design, quality planning, manufacturing, commissioning, and ensuring the project remains within budget to meet the requirements of the project’s needs

Who we are looking for

  • Relevant tertiary qualification related to Drafting or Engineering
  • Experience and knowledge in CAD Design
  • Must be computer literate in using Microsoft packages, intermediate to advance level preferred, especially in Excel
  • Previous experience within the Solar industry advantageous
  • Collaborative relationship skills
  • Excellent written and communication skills
  • Provision of high-quality service to internal and external customers
  • Able to multi-task, be organized and have good time management skills.
