About the role
This is a great hands-on role, so you will be out in the field and engaging with the business, adding real operational focused value. You will provide great operational support to the Vector OnGas business, who are filling and delivering LPG cylinders throughout New Zealand. Our two main Auckland operations are based in Wiri and Papakura.

Working closely with the Group Manger HSE and wider team, you will get to play an essential role in the safety and wellbeing of our employees, contractors and partners.  As a Senior HSE Partner at Vector, you will be expected to help grow HSE capability and knowledge across our OnGas teams, collaborate with contractors, other PCBU partners, and industry groups. Help deliver improvement initiatives, and keep our business informed on any legislative changes and best practice updates.

You will also get the opportunity to carry out or support incident investigations and assurance and auditing programmes. Key to the role will be overseeing and managing the Health and Safety Management System for the OnGas business unit, and the HSE compliance auditing process.  In addition, you will oversee incident reporting, injury management, hazard and risk management, and Vector’s contractor management processes.  You will really get to know the business by attending meetings, working with the field teams to offer HSE advice and support, and assisting with projects.

Who we are looking for
It’s important to Vector to get keep our great HSE culture moving forward, so you will have some years proven advisory experience in a similar industry or operational environment.

You’ll be skilled at juggling and prioritising multiple projects and your analytical skills will be second to none as there is a fair amount of reporting involved in this role.

You will have a naturally inquisitive nature and great communication skills, to enable you to assist in investigations. You will already have generalist knowledge of HSE and be good at using your initiative to further develop your understanding. You may have HSE qualifications, or it may be that you are working towards attaining these.
