About the role

The purpose of this role is to support the Commercial Area Manager in leading a team of people in allocating workload, managing day-to-day business to business commercial installation, air conditioning, ventilation HVAC and assists in service and maintenance operations in the workshop and in the field. It requires the job holder to coordinate resources and liaise with internal and external key contacts to ensure work is delivered on time and to a high standard. We see this position as a first step into the career of management for the person with the right skills and experience.

Responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for job allocations and job flow including job scheduling and day to day labour operations.
  • Coordinate resources, schedules and activities to effectively manage jobs.
  • Ensure supplies are ordered for each job.
  • Assist with quoting, project management, materials purchasing and quality checks
  • Manage inwards goods, checking, dispatching and receipting.
  • Progress reports and quick communication
  • Work closely with the Commercial Area Manager on a number of tasks
  • Identify client needs and explain/demonstrate HVAC services
  • Develop and implement systems to record, file and store information
  • Champion a culture of safety across the company, setting a Leadership example for our people, customers and suppliers.
  • Health and safety leadership

What you will bring:

  • You will have a technical background to support and assist the HVAC tech to fault find and repair HVAC equipment.
  • Be able to step in if required to assist in any but not limited to the following procedures, breakdown, maintenance, installation, repairs, warranty of HVAC installed and serviced by Aircon Direct
  • Strong interpersonal skills, self-motivation, ability to work independently
  • Ability to work with people at various levels from shop floor to senior management.
  • Project management experience.
  • People management skills.
  • Computer literacy with Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Quality and productivity focused.
  • Engineering Trade Qualification, Refrigeration or current Full or Limited Electrical EWRB – preferred but not essential.
  • Industry experience with HVAC and/or refrigeration is highly desirable.
  • Strong Health and Safety experience/knowledge is a must, including a Site Safe – EWP - working at heights certification – health and safety knowledge.
