About the role

You’ll be leading a team of cross functional design engineers on projects as a project engineer and will undertake or review primary and secondary systems designs.  You’ll provide thought leadership and insight into achieving cyber, architecture, and cloud, infrastructure and network outcomes and will ensure compliance with strategies, policies, standards and practices across technology implementation. Monitor the market to identify new and emerging technologies, products and services, assess their relevance and potential value to solving Vector business problems or opportunities.   Embrace and exploit exponential digital technologies, such as AI, Machine Learning, Internet of Things, Advanced Data Analytics, Cloud and APIs etc., to support innovation of Vector’s products, services, and core operations. Contribute to overall objectives for enterprise and solution architecture and maintain knowledge base on the target markets, energy and telecommunications sector, technology and applicable IT trends, and solutions from software, hardware and technology service vendors, and associated architecture artefacts. 

What we are looking for

You’ll bring with you significant and varied technology leadership experience over a sustained period, with a focus on governance, risk and compliance across cyber security, data and architecture. You have a deep and fundamental technology heritage that will enable you to garner the respect of top industry leaders and technologists.  You’re experienced in the implementation and maintenance of Industrial Control Systems preferably SCADA and Communications equipment in the electricity distribution industry.  Including associated configuration and monitoring software.   Ideally, you’ll be an engineer who is competent to practise independently and can undertake designs, review & certify designs undertaken by other engineers. You’ll have experience in guiding and supervising, as well as peer review engineering activities of others.  You are renown for fostering innovation, maintaining quality and promoting continuous improvement for all work undertaken by you and the team.
