About the role
Auckland's network continues to grow at a rapid rate to support our thriving city. We need you to help identify the pinch points and recommend solutions to maintain a safe and reliable continuous supply of power.  Consideration of disruptive technologies such as solar PV and electric vehicles, as well as identifying smart technology opportunities for deployment, adds to the challenge.  If you are an experienced network planning engineer looking to further your career, this may be the new opportunity you are seeking.

Some of the key responsibilities are:

·         Demand forecasting and modelling

·         Network Resilience analysis and planning

·         Provide technically sound customer solutions

·         Identifying Network Reinforcement needs

·         Contributing to the development of network standards

Who we are looking for
We are looking for a senior level network planner, someone with a number of years’ experience working in an electricity distribution environment, with experience in a core network planning or resilience role. Your experience will include a good mix of implementing traditional technology solutions for network reinforcement, as well as knowledge of potential smart technology options to help maintain security of supply and optimise overall asset utilisation.

To be successful in this role, you will have excellent communication skills to complement your technical knowledge, both written and verbal. You should be able to correspond confidently and with authority on matters of technical importance.

You will be self-driven, with a real desire to contribute to the wider team and add to developing a great team culture. A tertiary qualification in a relevant engineering discipline is required.
