Our Vatttenfall Information Services GmbH is looking for a
Working Student - Data Engineer (f/m/d)
located in Berlin and starting as soon as possible.
As a Working Student - Data Engineer at Vattenfall, you’ll be part of an agile SCRUM/KANBAN team working with advanced analytics tools across various financial systems to solve complex issues, collaborating closely with Financial Controlling stakeholders. You will support the development and operation of modern data platforms and analytics solutions. You will work closely with data engineers, BI developers, and business stakeholders to enable reliable, scalable, and transparent data solutions.
Your responsibilities
- Support the development and maintenance of data pipelines using modern ETL/ELT approaches
- Assist in analytics and BI solutions within the Microsoft Azure ecosystem (e.g. Azure Synapse, SQL Pools, Azure SQL Database, PostgreSQL, Snowflake, Databricks, Data Factory)
- Contribute to product and data solution development using Python and SQL
- Support data modelling and data warehousing activities
- Work with version control and CI/CD pipelines (e.g. Azure DevOps, Git)
- Collaborate in agile development teams and actively participate in sprint ceremonies
- Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical / IT specifications, proactively aligning with other developers

Qualifications
Your profile / who are you?
- immatriculated student at a german university
- Experience or strong interest in analytics, BI, and data engineering, ideally in a cloud environment
- Good programming skills in Python and SQL
- Basic understanding of data warehousing and data modelling concepts
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Git, and agile ways of working
- Strong communication skills in written and spoken English
- Curious, proactive mindset with the ability to ask questions and seek guidance when needed
- Strong motivation to learn Power BI dashboard development and data visualization
- Interest in understanding industry and financial systems, such as SAP ERP, IAM, EAM, SCADA, Profit & Loss statements, and business planning tools
