As our new Data Engineer in the Data Science team, you will join a collaborative and skilled team that drives automation of real business cases through data-driven and Machine Learning-based intelligence. We work in a Scrum setup and have in the past years been very successful in forecasting both electricity prices and electricity consumption. Your work will have direct and measurable impact! 
 
What will you do? 
 
Your tasks and responsibilities: 

  • Designing, maintaining and monitoring real-time and batch data pipelines using Azure, Databricks, and Python. 
  • Ingesting and processing external data feeds like weather, market prices, and grid telemetry with high reliability. 
  • Collaborating with Data Scientists and ML Engineers to build and maintain feature pipelines. 
  • Implementing data quality checks, validation, and lineage tracking for trustworthy forecasts. 
  • Working with streaming technologies such as Kafka, Spark Structured Streaming, and Flink. 
  • Continuously improving data workflows to make it easy for model development

Katowice or remotely in Poland

Qualifications

Who are you? 
As our Data Engineer you will bring:

  • Strong Python and SQL skills for building efficient data transformations. 
  • Experience with cloud data platforms (Azure, Databricks) and scalable data solutions. 
  • Familiarity with streaming systems (Kafka, Spark, Flink) and orchestration tools (Airflow). 
  • Understanding of DevOps practices, CI/CD, and automation. 
  • Exposure to containerized and orchestrated environments (Docker, Kubernetes). 
  • Awareness of challenges with data contracts, replayability, and time-series 
  • Comfortable with Infrastructure-as-code practices 
  • Curiosity for the energy domain and enthusiasm for enabling data-driven trading. 
  • Fluency in English.
