Job Description

We are offering an exciting opportunity as an HSE Specialist in our Offshore Wind Energy division for the Danish operational sites. Your expertise will drive the implementation of robust health and safety measures, fostering a culture of safety excellence throughout our operational sites.

As our new Health and Safety Offshore Specialist for the offshore sites in the Baltic region close to Denmark and Sweden, you will be the focal point for the area and responsible for providing independent, expert and professional support, advice and guidance to site management on all health and safety related issues and activates. Actively participating in and promoting a high standard of health and safety awareness and culture at site.    

The Health and Safety Specialist is employed in the QHS Generation department reporting to the H&S Manager Generation Nordics. Working directly with the assigned site(s), supporting the site management and team with expert and independent advice and support on health and safety topics.

Qualifications

Your role / what will you do? 

Promote and use H&S related systems

  • Contribute to the standardization of the company H&S management system by assisting with the updating of existing specific processes, procedures and instructions
  • Support in driving a culture care of using and maintaining relevant processes, procedures and instructions
  • Drive and report upon the H&S performance, including incident management, and maturity within the organisation
  • Perform first quality check on incident/accidents/events and act as case handler for the incident/accidents/events
  • Create a good culture though leading by example, training, knowledge sharing and lessons learned
  • Promoting awareness of legal requirements, execute legal compliance checks and prepare action plans
  • Responsible for the further implementation of CCM (Critical Control Management)
  • Have a presence on both operating sites to ensure that H&S is represented and available for the site teams for consultation.

Safety activities accordance with the site(s) HS activity plan

  • Engage with site and the central H&S function to deliver on the H&S plans and strategy
  • Conduct safety inspections/walks, incident investigations and root cause analysis
  • Support and plan, executions of emergency exercises and emergency response plans
  • Review and update activity plans according to requirements, scope and KPI´s
  • Support, participate in H&S culture programs at site or region as needed
  • Roll-out, participate and follow up of H&S related campaigns

Support site, HS meetings etc.

  • Participate in and support toolbox talks, performance meetings, briefings etc.
  • Participate in H&S meetings and all other relevant meetings
  • Support in the H&S component of contractor management processes (procurement, contractor performance evaluation, audits)
  • Contribute towards board governance reporting on H&S
  • Conduct and participate in, introduction of contractors at site
  • As relevant, participate in kick-off meeting for projects and service campaigns
  • Participate in audits (internal and external) and follow up on findings from related audits and support on NCR´s
  • Support site management in reporting to authorities as needed

 

Your profile:

You adapt your approach and demeanour in real-time to meet the changing demands of various situations. You excel at building strong relationships in the business and delivering customer-centric solutions. You have experience in anticipating and balancing the needs of multiple stakeholders. You easily build partnerships and collaborate with others to achieve shared objectives. You relate openly and comfortably with diverse groups of people.

  • You have a minimum of 5 years relevant work experience within Health and Safety, preferably with of offshore wind including construction, planning, coordinating and maintenance topics.
  • Familiar with safety management systems such as in ISO45001
  • Full and detailed understanding of applicable H&S related legislation in particular Danish and/or Swedish legislation.
  • Experience managing contractors as client and/or principal contractor
  • Experience in auditing and incident investigation
  • A professional level of English, both verbally and written with a clear advantage if proficiency in Swedish or Danish languages is held.
  • High level of communication skill and excellent problem-solving skills
  • IT-Intermediate to advanced level of MS Word, Excel and MS Outlook
  • Ability to prioritize own workload and organize time and tasks efficiently and be proactive
  • Required to undertake and pass offshore medical and GWO training.
