Job Description

  • License Management & Optimization: Manage and maintain enterprise-wide software and hardware licensing portfolios, monitor license usage and ensure optimal allocation and cost control, perform license audits, compliance checks and true-ups, Identify and implement cost optimization strategies.
  • Microsoft Licensing: Manage licensing for Microsoft 365 (E3, E5, Business plans), Windows Server, SQL Server, CALs, Azure subscriptions and services. Interpret and apply Microsoft licensing models and agreements (EA, CSP, MCA) and optimize Azure cost management, Reserved Instances, and Hybrid Benefits.
  • Citrix Licensing: Administer Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops licensing, manage Citrix license servers and user/device licensing models, ensure proper licensing for remote access and virtualization environments.
  • Firewall & Security Licensing: Manage licensing for enterprise firewalls (e.g., Fortinet, Palo Alto, Cisco), monitor and renew subscriptions for threat protection, URL filtering, VPN licensing. Ensure compliance with security vendor licensing policies.
  • Server Hardware & Infrastructure Licensing: Manage licensing and support contracts for server hardware (Dell, HPE, etc.), Firmware, OS, and embedded licenses, coordinate with vendors for hardware renewals, warranties, and upgrades.
  • Compliance & Governance: Ensure compliance with vendor licensing agreements and legal requirements, maintain accurate records of entitlements, deployments, usage, support internal and external license audits.
  • Reporting & Vendor Management: Generate reports on license utilization, costs, and renewals, Work with vendors and partners for procurement, renewals, and negotiations, provide budget forecasts and recommendations for license planning.
  • Collaboration & Advisory: Work closely with IT, security, and procurement teams, provide expert guidance on licensing impact for new projects and deployments, support infrastructure and cloud teams with licensing best practices. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, IT Management or related field from a recognized professional institute.
  • Minimum 5 years working experience in Software Asset Management (SAM) / IT Asset Management (ITAM) and Microsoft licensing and enterprise environments.
  • Hands-on experience in handling Microsoft, Citrix, Firewall, Hardware Licensing, vendor audits and Compliance processes.
  • Strong expertise in software licensing including Microsoft 365, Azure, Windows Server, SQL Server, Server licensing, Citrix models & environments, firewall subscriptions (Fortinet, Palo Alto, Cisco), and server hardware licensing and support agreements.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Azure Cost Management and billing, Microsoft Admin Center, Azure Portal, SAM tools (Flexera, Snow Software, ServiceNow SAM), and advanced reporting using Excel and Power BI license tracking, reporting and cost analysis and optimization strategies.
  • Strong understanding of IT governance, compliance, and audit frameworks, with knowledge of ITIL processes, excellent negotiation and vendor management skills, strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and documentation abilities.
  • Preferred certifications such as Microsoft Certified (Azure Administrator / Solutions Architect), Certified Software Asset Manager (CSAM), ITIL Foundation.
  • Vendor certifications (Citrix or firewall technologies) will be an added advantage.
