Job Description
Implement the directions and initiatives of the department manager.
Supervise and direct personnel on shift in performing operations according to
company policies and procedures.
Review daily production schedules for the department to plan work and personnel
assignments to ensure efficiency and cost effectiveness.
Ensure that all work is performed in accordance with all safety procedures and
safety requirements.
Anticipate and determine causes for delays in the shift and take appropriate action
to meet required timelines.
Report promptly to department manager and other concerned parties when delays
may effect production.
Coordinate with Human Resources and department manager any actions or issues
regarding hiring, compensation, leave of absence, medical restrictions, harassment,
coaching, counseling and/or disciplining of employees.
Conduct probationary and annual performance reviews with department manager
to ensure development and effectiveness of employees.
Perform administrative functions such as timekeeping, recordkeeping and
paperwork correctly and in a timely manner.
Understand and demonstrate employee relations and the open door policy with all
employees.
Understand the role and function of all positions within the department and
demonstrate the ability to train and evaluate employees on each position.
Perform other duties and special assignments, such as inventory, as required.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED is preferred.
- Communication, organization, and problem-solving skills as well as aptitude to operate personal computers and/or automated data collection devices are required.
