Job Description

Coordinates and expedites the flow of work for an assigned shift within or between departments according to production schedule.  Facilitates shift production activity and supports the team in achieving performance targets.

  • Report directly to an operations supervisor in a fast-paced high-performance environment.
  • Must be able to operate all pieces of equipment (i.e., Reach Truck, Hi-Lo Forklift, and Order Picker).
  • Perform daily inspections of equipment prior to operation in accordance with Vantiva Safety regulations.
  • Check pallets for damaged cartons in the Bulk Induction Department.
  • Ensure the correct carrier is lined up with the correct tracking number.
  • Wrap pallets and deliver them to the staging lane.
  • Move pallets to designated rows for carrier. 
  • Receive, store, and distribute material, tools, equipment, and products.
  • Distribute and assign work to the team.
  • Required to perform clerical duties as it relates to daily tasks production performed by the department.
  • Ensure warehouse goals are met.
  • Perform adjustments and maintenance on equipment while standing throughout shift.
  • Responsible for enforcing and adhering to all company policies and rules as well as departmental written work instructions.
  • Responsible for maintaining and enforcing a clean and safe work area.
  • Be instrumental in ensuring that all work is performed accurately and in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures and best methods.
  • Demonstrate a sense of urgency in support of the team’s ability to exceed production and service level performance.
  • Proactively address and overcome obstacles which may impede the performance of the team.
  • Assists supervisor in actively aligning workforce to optimize workflow and throughput for the team and shift; provide input on work assignments and labor deployment.
  • Provides day-to-day support and leadership to a team of employees.
  • Possess a working understanding and the ability to perform all functions of team members and assist in training and assimilating new team members.
  • Be a positive role model by being active and working side by side with employees.  Works to promote teamwork by modeling integrity, honesty, approachability and reinforcing positive behavior.
  • Perform other general warehouse duties as needed.
  • May be required to work in other departments and locations as the workload permits.
  • Works variable and flexible hours as needed.
  • Must work well under pressure.

Qualifications

High School diploma with some college courses preferred; one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Have prior Forklift experience.
