Job Description

To accompany its growth strategy in the commercial IoT markets, Vantiva is seeking a technical leader to help drive the product strategy and build the process to maximize success and scale for Vantiva’s IoT products and solutions in the commercial vertical markets worldwide.

Reporting to Vantiva’s SVP of IoT Division, the individual is responsible for developing, coordinating, and executing the product plan to support consistent business/revenue growth, engage with customers and prospects as well as solution and brand evangelism. The individual must have a strong expertise in working with different technologies and cross-functional teams to be the customers’ voice and product champion within the organization.

The product leader will have experience in creating, building and deploying end-to-end IoT solutions (hardware and software), and ideally in one or more commercial IoT markets (e.g., QSR, retail, hospitality, self-storage, multi-family MDUs, etc). He/she will work directly with IoT and enterprise end customers, system integrators and solutions providers in defining and driving Vantiva’ s end-to-end IoT product offerings.

Responsibilities:

 

  • Develop, communicate and implement the business unit’s end-to-end SaaS product solution, delivering through both the direct team (sales, engineering) and supporting functional teams.
  • Lead cross-functional collaboration to develop and deliver connected product and services.
  • Drive the design, implementation and sustaining of a world-class connected user experience, including uncovering real-time user insights, driving user experience requirements, creating business cases, and identifying core value propositions.
  • Ensure product portfolio vision and roadmap align with business unit(s) strategy; emphasis should be on fast paced new product development and releases with both hardware and software focus; ensure that the broad organization understands priorities and goals.
  • Drive the product team to achieve and surpass company sales, profitability and business goals.
  • Build and lead the product team to implement an agile product development process and discipline.
  • Motivate and lead a high-performance team by attracting, engaging, and retaining team members.
  • Maintain transparent communication by appropriately communicating organization information to team through department meetings, one-on-one meetings, appropriate email, IM and regular interpersonal communications.
  • Experience and skill in managing a product portfolio that includes 3rd party device integrations as well as 3rd party software components and libraries. Good at making build, partner, buy decisions.
  • Active, on-going engagement with strategic industry/product partners to fortify the product portfolio.
  • Interface with analysts, media/PR outlets, key industry conferences in order to educate customers, partners and end users about our vision, strategy and new product innovations; represent the company with major customers, competitors, trade associations, and similar groups.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, computer Science, engineering or related field
  • MBA preferred but not required.
  • 8-10 years in Engineering, Marketing and/or Product Management; experience managing product portfolio with multiple categories.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, a team player, and a great communicator.
  • Strategic thinker and marketer.
  • Ability to think outside the box with an innovative mindset.
  • Experience in driving the implementation of IoT solutions including hardware (gateways, hubs, IoT devices and sensors) and software (enterprise and mobile SaaS).
  • Ability to work in Matrix and Agile software development environment.
  • Ability to evolve in a multicultural organization.
  • Understand and have experience with Agile Scrum methodologies or other commonly used tools.
  • Strong capability to understand customer’ pain points and be in customers’ shoes.
  • Driven to foster team progress and problem-solving.
  • Business & Market intelligence around commercial IoT, SaaS, services.
  • Finance & P&L Management experience a plus.
  • Ability and willingness to Inspire & Influence.

Additional Information

Physical Demands: Significant travel to customer and partner sites.

Location:  Anywhere in the continental US. San Francisco Bay Area preferred.
