Job Description

Basic purpose :

The job holder belongs to a team in charge of the hardware development of digital products.

He/She contributes to the development of the product from the conception to industrial production step.

This job requires hardware knowledge in technology to perfectly integrate such features within a Set Top Box. In addition, software is frequently used as a mandatory tool for testing.

 

Context :

High Tech , very short time to market are the keys for success on the consumer market in the digital domain. The job requires a pragmatic engineer, very motivated by the Hardware development and by Customer product development activity

 

Mission Content :

- Participation in relation with the Hardware Project Leader to the overall hardware architecture definition focusing on the front end solution (standards DVBS/S2/C/TER/TER2/….)  to implement and qualify the RF filtering, the tuner and the demodulator (solution selection and implementation, performances and standard compliancy, component positioning, electromechanical implementation, cooling system, system coexistence analysis) ;

- Development and integration of the Front end solutions in the Set Top Box (schematic, layout, HW characterization, certification, manufacturing test and calibration, coexistence with others features, integrations tests) ;

- Definition of tests, and associated tools (hardware and software) to fully qualify the front-end solution ;

- Realization of the Front end tests in line with our current process ;

- Support of the overall Product debug ;

- Act as a front end expert in the HW development team (technical explanation, Key IC solution selection, risk evaluation)  

- Report to the team leader and communicate closely with the Hardware Project Leader and Hardware Delivery leader.

 

Responsibility :

The Hardware Engineer will :

- ensure that the tasks he/she is responsible for, will be developed in line with the planning,

- guarantee the quality of the deliverables linked to his tasks (performances in line with the specification, respect of the design rules, characterization report).

 

Qualifications

Profile & Education

- Junior or 2-3 years experience Engineer

- Very motivated by Customer product development activity

- Education: Master in electronic or equivalent

- Experience in front end, hardware design and qualification  

- English language mandatory (international context)

- Good communication skills, “accurate” and team working spirit

- Front end, tuner, demodulator, DVB standards, Wireless, Radio frequency, RF, analogue function, Electromagnetic compatibility,  EMC, power, thermal,  coexistence.
