Job Description

Our operating division “Connected Home” is one of the leaders on wide range of solutions to Pay -TV operators and network service providers for the delivery of digital entertainment, data, voice, and smart home services though the design and supply of products such as set-top boxes, gateways and managed wireless tablets.

For this business division, we are looking for a “SAP BI developer”.

The BI Developer will join the Connected Home (CH) BI IT team and support its growth in the framework of its in-sourcing strategy. The role requires direct involvement in projects to implement BI Solutions as well as providing ongoing support and process improvement to our end-user community.

The BI developer will handle all BI development aspects, covering all Connected Home Business Division worldwide in the framework of a large transformation program that was launched in 2020 (Finance, Supply Chain, Engineering, Sourcing, Engineering Portfolio Management, Product Lifecycle Management, Legal, HR).

Our data landscape is made of different technologies (SAP BW4HANA, SQL Databases, Microsoft Power BI) integrated with other key systems (SAP ECC 6, Kinaxis Rapid Response, Oracle AGILE PLM, CRM Salesforce, SAP BFC Magnitude, JIRA). Geographical scope is worldwide supporting all regions: NAM, LATAM, EMEA and APAC.

The role requires a solid functional, business intelligence, and analytics background, ensuring the ability to fully interpret needs expressed by the business end-users. Then, through design, customizing, and development to deliver issue corrections, solution enhancements, brand new solutions, and meet the business’s expectations.

Key elements for the role:

  • Ensuring BI systems health and performance by proposing, implementing, and monitoring best practices.
  • Accountable for data reliability across all the layers making the data warehouse (BW4HANA) and satellites systems. 
  • Align and implement the SAP BI relevant architecture to support data analytics, reporting needs, and business planning requirements.
  • Develop guidelines for the BI landscape and promote best practices for data visualization, dashboarding, planning and analytics, and applications architecture.
  • Complete root cause analysis and provide recommendations to senior leadership to address risks and opportunities.
  • Understanding and safeguarding our CH core solution principles.
  • Handling users’ support requests, paying attention to the priority level.
  • Performing the necessary configuration and developments as needed.

 

Qualifications

The ideal candidate enjoys the challenge of highly complex technical contexts, and above all, is passionate about data and analytics to impact business decisions.

He/she should have strong analytical skills, independently blend data from multiple sources, drive consensus and connect business to data.

He/she should be curious, self-driven, and willing to learn new topics.

He/she must also be passionate about partnering with the power users, business analysts and other business stakeholders and dive deep to identify root causes and provide actionable insights.

Basic Qualifications:

    • Highly motivated, proactive and a self-starter; strong sense of ownership and ability to create and execute plans without daily oversight.
    • Proven ability to focus on details while ensuring overall objectives are met.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, organizational and documentation skills.
    • Minimum 5 years of experience in data foundation, data management, data governance, and insights generation from design to execution.
    • Good knowledge of SAP BI architecture and developments tools, including but not limited to, BW4HANA, IP/BPC, SAC, and Analysis for Excel. Hands-on experience is preferred.
    • Good ABAP development background.
    • Demonstrated strength in SQL and Query performance tuning.
    • Good knowledge of MS Power BI, Azure Data Lake, and Data Factory.
