Job Description

Position Title: Production Planning Coordinator / Supply Chain Coordinator

Location: Carnegie, PA.

Position Summary

The Supply Chain Coordinator supports the site's daily production, inventory, and logistics operations, reporting directly to the Supply Chain Manager. This role serves as a key point of coordination between production, warehouse, traffic/shipping, and customer care — ensuring accurate inventory records, timely fulfillment of production and transfer orders, and reliable outbound shipping. The Coordinator also provides backup support for traffic and shipping scheduling functions as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Production Planning & Data Entry: Enter and update daily production orders in NAV, including raw material consumption, finished goods, and packaging usage from the previous production shift.
  • Production Scheduling: Prepare and review daily fill sheets and production plans with the Supply Chain Manager, then coordinate with Production Supervisors and the Lab to ensure all teams are aligned on production requirements.
  • Raw Material & Inventory Management: Monitor raw material availability and inventory levels, identify and investigate inventory variances, and create transfer orders to ensure materials are available for upcoming production.
  • Sample Coordination: Manage sample orders from order entry through shipment, coordinating material availability and timelines with Customer Service and other internal teams.
  • Production & Warehouse Coordination: Print production orders, fill sheets, tank assignments, warehouse pick sheets, and other documentation needed to support daily manufacturing and shipping activities.
  • Traffic & Logistics Support: Provide backup support for shipping and logistics activities, including scheduling LTL shipments, coordinating freight quotes, planning trailer moves, posting bulk shipments, and preparing shipping documentation.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination: Work closely with Production, Supply Chain, Warehouse, Laboratory, Customer Service, and Shipping/Logistics to ensure production plans, materials, inventory, and shipments are properly coordinated.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in supply chain, business, or related field preferred.

Experience: 1–2 years of experience in production support, inventory, warehouse, or logistics/traffic coordination, ideally in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience in logistics or traffic coordination, ideally within a manufacturing environment.
  • Working knowledge of ERP and inventory management systems, preferably NAV / Business Central.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to coordinate effectively.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and adapt to changes in daily production and shipping schedules.
  • Ability to manage time-sensitive activities and ensure that production and logistics requirements are completed accurately and on schedule.

Pay and Benefits

The estimated base pay for this position is $24/h to 34/h. Actual pay will be determined based on education, certifications, experience, qualifications, skills and geographic location. This position is eligible to participate in a short-term incentive program.
