Job Description

Position Summary

The Regional Accounting Manager (LATAM) supports the cost accounting of our businesses across the Latin America region. This is a key role on an established team.  We are seeking a dynamic and energetic professional who has a proven track record in financial analysis, strategic planning and cost-effectiveness.  This role will be based in our regional office located in Bogota, Colombia.

 

Position Scope

The position will be located in Bogotá, supporting LATAM.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Consolidate country reports across the region for submission to headquarters.
  2. Implement, track, and drive plant-level productivity initiatives, including reviewing and providing feedback on KPIs.
  3. Ensure timely and accurate financial results are uploaded into Planful.
  4. Partner with regional management and Finance to prepare and review cost forecasts and annual budgets.
  5. Perform monthly reviews of actual vs. budget cost variances and provide insights.
  6. Identify internal control weaknesses and opportunities for process improvement.
  7. Initiate and recommend changes to reduce the financial close cycle and enhance reporting effectiveness.
  8. Partner with Operations, Finance, and Manufacturing as a strategic/tactical business partner to drive efficiency.
  9. Ensure financial transactions and events are properly and accurately recorded in the correct accounting period.
  10. Leading team’s preparation and analysis of financial data and reports including reporting on variances from the budget and report significant issues to management.
  11. Developing key performance metrics, financial modeling, pro-forma(s) and benchmarking based on industry standards.
  12. Work with external providers on compliance matters, such as statutory audits and tax compliance.
  13. Demonstrated ability to lead and influence remote and multicultural teams across multiple LATAM countries.
  14. Partner closely with internal and external legal counsel to ensure compliance with local statutory, tax, and regulatory requirements across LATAM.

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related degree.  Accounting certification is a plus.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 7 years of accounting experience needed, ideally in a middle-sized company, with substantial experience in manufacturing along with product costing experience working with inventory across varying cost structures.
  • Minimum 3 years of leadership experience with multinational teams.

Required Qualifications

  • Ability to balance changing and potentially conflicting priorities & working with uncertainty.
  • Ability to identify problems, formulate solutions, influence others and drive results.
  • Proven success working collaboratively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment, as well as independently.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, especially detail-oriented and technical material.
  • Fluent in Spanish and English. Portuguese is a plus.
  • Computer literacy with proficient use of Microsoft (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, BI)
  • Strong communication skills for making presentations, developing and maintaining relationships with ability to communicate complex issues in a crisp, clear and concise way.
  • Self-motivated, results orientated and can organize/manage multiple tasks.
  • Experience with US GAAP.
  • 10% International Travel.
