Job Description
Your role as Sales Engineer;
As Sales Engineer for the DACH area you are responsible for generating business with both new and existing customers in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, reporting to the Sales Manager based in Germany. It’s a remote working role, but you need to be based in Germany. Around 50 – 60% of your time will be travelling in the DACH area. For this position, German and English fluent language skills are required.
The preferred candidate has an technical educational background in preferably mechanical- or electrical engineering, has technical sales experience in a similar business and has a "roll up your sleeves" mentality.
This position is part of the business unit Electrical Carbon and operates in the markets of industrial, power-generation, rail and wind turbines, in the areas of mechanical engineering and engine construction. Morgan produces e.g. electrical carbon brushes and collectors, brush holders, slip rings, linear transfer systems, terminal blocks and diagnostic- and motor maintenance systems, to name some.
You customers are small and medium sized companies as well with multinational companies, which requires to shift between a shop floor and a corporate environment within a blink of the eye.
Your daily tasks are Identifying potential new customers and remain in contact with current customers; selling products to potential and existing customers face-to-face, achieving sales targets; keeping track and keeping your data records of all sales related activities up to date in the CRM system, as well as converting market understanding and sales leads into commercial opportunities.

What you need to do:
- Achieving sales, pricing and margin targets of the business;
- Acting as primary contact for assigned customers and business opportunities;
- Identifying, nurturing and converting new business opportunities in the target markets;
- Independent technical and commercial support of the customer base in the sales area, from processing enquiries and orders to general contract negotiations and after-sales business;
- Developing of customer-specific solutions for the use of our products along the entire value chain;
- Internal, interdisciplinary coordination and management of contract-relevant issues in consultation with the Sales Manager;
- Maintaining customer relationships, identifying customer needs, assessing customer satisfaction and developing and implementing measures for improving customer satisfaction;
- Working with all departments across sites to ensure processes and products are developed to meet customer requirements;
- Developing and implementing action plans to ensure successful conversion of NBDP (New Business Development Pipeline) both directly and through distributors and alliances;
- Utilise Morgan CRM to manage all sales and marketing data including customer visit reports, quotes;
- Representation of our company with participation in conferences, congresses and trade fairs.
Qualifications
What you need to bring:
- Engineer or technician in the field of mechanical and/ or electrical engineering;
- Several years of sales experience, ideally of technical products that require explanation;
- High affinity and enthusiasm for technical sales;
- Knowledge of the target markets of engine and mechanical engineering, rail transport, wind energy and general power generation would be ideal;
- Proven business development track record and network within the target markets would be ideal;
- Willingness and ability to travel;
- Fluent in German and English is required.
