Job Description
This role is responsible to ensure compliance with Mine Health and Safety Act requirements regarding practical skills development facilities (underground and/ or surface) with reference to competence and Legal appointments.
Key responsibilities of this role are:
- Manage an accredited underground workplace skills development area.
- This role may carry a legal appointment in terms of the Mines Health and Safety Act. (MH & S Act Regulation 2.14.1)
- Execution of all technical skills training phases in the constrained area.
- This role is to coordinate and implement the execution of practical mining skills development in the underground area.
- The maintenance of the accreditation criteria.
- The time frame of work is 1-2 years.
- Coordinate and implements operational skills development for competency.
- Responsible to establish, maintain and manage a working underground and / or surface environment conducive for skills development in compliance with the Mine Health and Safety Act.
- Identification of skills development delivery priorities for Mining in consultation with the HRD Manager
- Ensures compliance in terms of MQA and QCTO requirements
Qualifications
Qualifications
- Blasting Certificate/NQF 3 Rock Breaker Qualification. Shift Supervisor Cert, Mine Overseers Certificate
- OD ETDP Level 5 Higher certificate or NQF 6 OD ETDP Diploma will be advantageous.
- Assessor and Moderator Certificate. Advantageous: Risk Management Certification.
- Management Development Programme.
Experience
- 5 years Mining Exp as Shift Supervisor,
- Execution of ABC of mining to Mechanized Miners and Shift Supervisors
Knowledge And Skills
- 5 years Mining experience, including 1-year supervisory experience and 2 years HRD Experience. Advantageous: Projects experience.
