This role is based at Amandelbult Complex, Tumela Mine, Thabazimbi, South Africa

Job Description

This role is a specialist role within the Human Resources structure responsible to promote effective Employee Relations practices among employees and the employer. The role must ensure that system, policies and procedures are adhered to. The role is responsible for the maintenance of all P&O employee relations practices, systems, and data quality within the operation.

Roles and responsibilities include the following:

  • Effective systems management of all People & Organization processes.
  • Ensure that system policies and procedures are adhered to.
  • Regularly liaise with the P&O Manager and Advisor on system operations activities.
  • Ensure adherence to safety and legal standards.
  • Monitor P&O processes to ensure compliance and understanding by clients.
  • Foster cooperation and teamwork among team members and stakeholders.
  • Align process flow in the system with stakeholder requirements.
  • Communicate process problems to relevant parties for resolution.
  • Address constraints impacting the system upstream and downstream.
  • Plan work through liaison with stakeholders
  • Continuously liaise with the Employee Relations manager /Advisor operational activities
  • Monitor the ER process regularly to ensure conformance to and understanding of standards and procedures by clients
  • Ensure co-operation and teamwork between team and stakeholders by delivering and efficient service
  • Hold disciplinary and grievance inquiries as prescribed by the policy and procedures.
  • Identify potential conflict situations, identify root causes and propose actions steps.
  • Control discipline and ensure fair decisions regarding Industrial Relations by following procedures and ensuring that stakeholders are well versed in the procedures.
  • Fairly manage cultural diversity by applying the specific HR regulations and procedures equally
  • Facilitation of operational engagements forum
  • Conduct and/or participate in required meetings

This role is on a D1 level reporting to the Employee Relations Advisor

Qualifications

  • NQF 6 Advanced Certificate/National Diploma
  • Labour Law/Labour Dispute Resolution qualification will be an added advantage

Experience

  • 3 years People & Organization experience (Employee Relations Function), of which two years in the mining industry.

Knowledge and Skills

  • P&O generalist experience essential
  • Understanding of CCMA rules and processes including appearances.
  • Experience in representing employer at conciliation and arbitration is essential.
  • Computer literate for role including SAP HR/Nav+/Additional information
