Job Description

Hey there, food safety and quality champions! Are you ready to embark on an exciting journey with us? Valeo Foods UK, is on the lookout for a dynamic Site Senior QA Auditor to join our passionate team in Blackburn! 

Your Quest: To provide support and direction to the Quality Assurance team and support to the operations team to enable the site to meet food safety and quality requirements in the most effective and efficient way. Support the business in driving continuous improvement and managing our greatest risks by challenging and validating our systems and processes.

Leadership and Management

We are looking for someone who is able to deputise for the Quality Assurance Manager and ensure that all direct reports are trained in all relevant procedures and that training records are kept up to date. You must also be able to review workload of the team and manage deadlines.

Standards and Compliance

  • Support QA and Operations teams ensure compliance to factory procedures, customer policies and codes of practice, and external accreditation bodies
  • Act as point of contact for all Quality and food safety issues during the shift.
  • Active member of the auditing team with completion of QMS, GMP, Fabrication, and CCP audits.
  • Support the QA Manager to manage holds, concessions, rejections and incidents
  • Monitoring and reporting of Technical KPI’s
  • Assist in the completion of QAS, Line standards, and Internal specifications
  • Updating of documentation, procedures, and risk assessments
  • Liaise with and develop relationships with the management and supervisors in all departments to support and drive ‘Right first time’ production and Continuous Improvement.
  • Assist and complete in complaint investigations to include collection of documentation, traceability, inspections of product and equipment, etc.
  • Completion of internal traceability and mass balance exercises
  • Assisting in the planning and completion of Food Safety Culture events and training sessions
  • Assisting in the management of the QMS system on site

KPI’s

To support the QA Manager to ensure effective measuring, trending and reporting against internal and customer KPI’s

Customer  

  • Active involvement during customer visits & audits of a technical nature to ensure a successful outcome.
  • Support day to day BRC and retailer audit management, ensuring effective close out of non-conformances
  • Excellent, accurate communication skills both written and verbal

Qualifications

Qualifications and knowledge

  • Food Science or similar qualifications or minimum 5 years experience in QA roles
  • Experience in FMCG or similar environment in quality associated roles

Qualities and Experience

We are looking for someone with previous supervisory experience where possible however, this is not essential. Someone who has a passion for product and quality. The ability to communicate and present whilst also have strong attention to detail. You must be someone who is great at building relationships with internal and external stakeholders and colleagues.
